Q & A with Mr. Perri
Highlight of the year in 8P:
At the end of the year, all students K-7 line up along the walls of the hallway applauding the graduating 8th grade class as they walk down the hall on their very last day at St. Martha. The hall is very long so it makes for a memorable moment for our 8th graders.
Working through a process step by step. Many mathematical concepts can be solved just by following steps in a direction.
Patience is a virtue.
Favorite part of teaching:
Seeing the “light bulb” moment when a struggling student understands a difficult concept.
Favorite teaching memory:
Having the unforgettable opportunity to participate in the Honeywell Educators in Space Academy during summer 2017 at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Teachers from around the world attended an innovative professional development program designed specifically for teachers to become more effectives educators in science, technology, engineering and math.
Favorite thing about St. Martha:
My favorite thing about St. Martha is our unified mission as a staff to support both the individual passions and development opportunities of our students, so when they graduate from St. Martha, they leave as well grounded young adults ready for high school.
My hope for my students:
To understand that patience is needed in many aspects of life. Just wait. Your answer will come eventually.
